Olly Murs is making a return to releasing music with new single ‘Save Me', his first on new label home BMG.
The song has been performed during Murs' recent sold-out UK arena tour. The video for the song will premiere at 4pm BST today (Friday 25th July). Listen to ‘Save Me' below:
“It’s a song about a guy on a night out after having a row with his missus,” Olly says. “And it goes horribly wrong!”
Murs describes the song as the beginning of a new Murs era but it’s as catchy and upbeat as any of his greatest hits. Written by Murs, Ed Drewett and James New, the song is produced by Sky Adams.
‘Save Me' is classic Murs. Olly says the writing process was ’spontaneous and fun’ and says: “It took me back to the ‘Heart Skips A Beat’, ‘Thinking of Me’ and ‘Please Don’t Let Me Go’ from 2010 in my early career days too – this is old Olly vibes but the 2.0 version.”
Directed by Nick Suchak, the video for ‘Save Me’ sees Olly out on the town for a big one with a group of mates. Kicking off at the local pool bar, the night descends into chaos as Olly tries to patch things up with his partner. A leaked photo from the shoot sent Heart Radio into overdrive, believing he’d slept through his weekly show with Mark Wright, despite being booked on holiday that weekend.
