‘Fawlty Towers – The Play’ Announces Cast Ahead of Major UK Tour

Casting has been announced for the UK and Ireland tour of ‘Fawlty Towers – The Play', the smash-hit stage adaptation of the legendary BBC sitcom created by comedy legend John Cleese. Following its critically acclaimed West End run and a summer return, the show kicks off a 10-month nationwide tour at Churchill Theatre, Bromley from 30th September – 4th October 2025.

Danny Bayne (‘Grease', ‘On the Town') steps into the chaos as the permanently flustered Basil Fawlty, England's most acidic hotelier. He is joined by Joanne Clifton (‘Strictly Come Dancing', ‘The Addams Family') as the ever-resourceful Polly, and veteran actor Paul Nicholas (‘Jesus Christ Superstar', ‘Just Good Friends') returning as the doddery Major. Also starring are Mia Austen as the domineering Sybil, Hemi Yeroham reprising his role as hapless Spanish waiter Manuel, and Jemma Churchill as irate guest Mrs Richards.

Adapted by Cleese himself, the play weaves together three of the show's most iconic episodes — ‘The Hotel Inspectors', ‘The Germans', and ‘Communication Problems' — into one uproarious two-hour performance, complete with a brand-new finale.

Directed by Caroline Jay Ranger, who helmed the original West End production, the show has received rave reviews. As Cleese puts it, “I never thought that all these years later, the stage show would get the reception that it has — but here we are, still making theatres rock with laughter.”

Expect classic chaos, unforgettable one-liners, and all your favourite characters in this faithful yet fresh tribute to one of Britain’s greatest sitcoms.

‘Fawlty Towers – The Play' runs at Churchill Theatre Bromley from 30th September – 4th October 2025.
