Rising country artist Waylon Wyatt has released his highly anticipated second EP ‘Out Of The Blue' via Music Soup/Darkroom Records. The six-song collection reflects Wyatt’s signature rustic sound while also pushing his sonic boundaries, offering fans a deeper look into the life and growth of the 19-year-old singer-songwriter.
Blending stripped-down Americana with piercing, heartfelt lyrics, ‘Out Of The Blue' captures the warmth and honesty that first drew listeners to Wyatt. The EP features the emotional standout track ‘Sincerely, Your Son,' a love letter to his parents written from the road. Other previously released tracks include ‘Smoke & Embers' (featuring Willow Avalon) and ‘I’d Be Delighted.'
The EP’s focus track, ‘Old Habits,' marks a shift in Wyatt’s sound, opening with piano instead of his usual acoustic guitar. The song explores the pain of parting ways with someone you love, offering a cinematic and emotional new layer to his storytelling. Wyatt describes ‘Out Of The Blue' as a reflection of his first two years on tour while balancing life as a full-time student during the week.
“Really upgraded from recording in the kitchen of my house for this EP to a full blown studio, playin each song live with a band,” Wyatt said of the project. “Don’t mean my heart wasn’t poured out into these songs just as much as the other ones were. I couldn’t be more stoked for ‘Out Of The Blue' to come June 6th!”
The release comes as Wyatt prepares to hit the road for his biggest headlining tour yet. The 35-date fall run kicks off September 6 in Fayetteville, Arkansas, and wraps November 21 in Houston, Texas. Tickets are available at waylonwyattmusic.com.
The tour announcement follows a string of major milestones for Wyatt. In recent months, he has sold over 18,000 tickets upon launch, made his debut at the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre (opening for Turnpike Troubadours), performed at Stagecoach, and graduated high school.
Wyatt first gained widespread attention with his 2023 debut EP ‘Til The Sun Goes Down,' a self-produced project recorded in his childhood home. Drawing comparisons to artists like Tyler Childers and Zach Bryan, the EP introduced fans to his raw, narrative-driven songwriting and stripped-back production.
After wrapping his sold-out Til The Sun Goes Down Tour and supporting artists like Sam Barber and Turnpike Troubadours, Wyatt is set to open for Zach Bryan at London’s Hyde Park and appear at major festivals including Bourbon & Beyond, Cavendish Beach Music Festival, and Rock The Park.
Out Of The Blue is now streaming everywhere.
