Luke Morley has dropped his latest single “Snakeskin Parachute” along with a new music video, offering fans an energetic taste of his upcoming solo album ‘Walking On Water,' set for release on August 1.
Best known as the lead guitarist, songwriter, and producer for British rock band Thunder, Morley continues to explore new musical territory during the band’s current hiatus. The new solo material follows the success of last year’s ‘Songs From The Blue Room,' which reached #1 on the Official Indie Breaker Albums Chart.
‘Snakeskin Parachute' showcases Morley’s signature rock sensibility while leaning into more personal and experimental territory. He describes the song as an evolution of an old idea. “This was a random title I'd written down a few years ago. I liked the bizarre combination of the two words,” he says. “I guess ‘Snakeskin' is a metaphor for my musical past and the ‘Parachute' is me trying to convince myself that if my solo records don’t go down too well, I could always eject and land softly back where I was in my heavy rock comfort zone.”
While he remains proud of his legacy with Thunder, Morley is clear that he's ready to stretch creatively. “I’m very proud of being the guitar player in Thunder and I always will be, but that doesn’t mean I don’t want to try other things.”
The new single arrives alongside the announcement of a UK tour in September, with dates in Manchester, Glasgow, Sunderland, Leeds, Bristol, Brighton, and London.
