Cam returns with reflective new single ‘Alchemy’ her first release in four years

Grammy-winning artist Cam has returned with ‘Alchemy,' her first solo release in four years, and a bold reintroduction to the distinctive blend of country, folk, and genre-bending Cailfornia / Laurel Canyon-tinged pop that defines her sound. Produced by longtime collaborator Tyler Johnson and co-written by Cam, Johnson, Michael Uzowuru, and Anders Mouridsen, the new track is a radiant meditation on life’s constant evolution—capturing themes of origin, transformation, and renewal through a lush, melodic soundscape.

Accompanying the single is a visually striking one-take music video directed by James Mackel, known for his work with Doechii. “Alchemy” adds a powerful new chapter to Cam’s celebrated catalog, which includes her breakout 2015 album Untamed and the triple-platinum hit “Burning House.” Since her last solo release, Cam’s creative reach has only expanded—most notably through her songwriting and vocal contributions to Beyoncé’s COWBOY CARTER, which earned her a Grammy win for Album of the Year. With more new music on the horizon, “Alchemy” signals an exciting new era for the fearless singer-songwriter.
