Just hours after the release of ‘I’m The Problem,' Morgan Wallen’s fourth studio album soared to become the most-streamed country album of the year across Apple, Spotify, and Amazon. To celebrate, Wallen kicked off his 2025 performance calendar in epic fashion with the launch of his first-ever Sand In My Boots Festival, held in Gulf Shores, Alabama. The sold-out, multi-genre event drew 40,000 fans and featured a lineup curated by Wallen himself, including acts as diverse as Post Malone, Brooks & Dunn, T-Pain, The War On Drugs, and Three 6 Mafia.
Wallen closed out the weekend with a 23-song headlining set, debuting seven tracks from ‘I’m The Problem' for the first time. Among the live premieres were “I’m The Problem,” “Kick Myself,” “Don’t We,” “I’m A Little Crazy,” “I Got Better,” “Superman,” and “Just In Case.” Joined on stage by Bailey Zimmerman for their breakout hit “Up Down” and ERNEST for the crowd favorite “Cowgirls,” Wallen delivered a powerful mix of hits and new material. The stage, an 80s-inspired custom build by studio Raw Cereal, marked the company’s largest festival structure to date and set the visual tone for Wallen’s vision of the event.
Speaking to the crowd, Wallen shared that the festival was a long-time dream. “Me and a couple of my closest friends and teammates have been throwing the idea of doing a festival around for a long time now,” he said. “With a lot of hard work, and a lot of really great artists to come out here, we got to make that happen.” The final song of the night was Wallen’s 2018 breakthrough single “The Way I Talk,” which he used as a heartfelt sendoff, thanking the crowd for their continued support.
‘I’m The Problem' spans a massive 37 tracks and has been praised for its raw introspection and genre-crossing sound. Billboard called it a “self-examining storytelling extravaganza,” while Grammy.com highlighted its blend of R&B, rock, and outlaw country influences. Wallen co-wrote 22 of the tracks and collaborated with artists including Post Malone, Tate McRae, Eric Church, ERNEST, and HARDY, enlisting 49 songwriters in total to help shape what Hits Daily Double described as “a 37-song cycle of self-reckoning.”
The new album’s themes of accountability and personal growth mark a shift in tone for Wallen, who channels his own life experiences into deeply personal lyrics. Songs like “Kick Myself” and “I’m A Little Crazy” reflect a more vulnerable side, with Wallen choosing not to sugarcoat the past but rather confront it with honesty. The result is a record that connects on a deeply human level, cementing his place as one of the most compelling voices in modern country music.
Following the festival, Wallen will hit the road for his I’m The Problem Tour, beginning June 20 at NRG Stadium in Houston. The 20-date stadium run includes stops in Seattle, Foxborough, Toronto, and Madison, Wisconsin, where Wallen will make history as the first artist to perform two consecutive nights at Camp Randall Stadium. Support acts include Brooks & Dunn, Miranda Lambert, Thomas Rhett, and Koe Wetzel, with emerging artists Gavin Adcock, Corey Kent, Ella Langley, and Anne Wilson joining select dates. The tour, along with a one-night-only London album celebration on May 28, will be the only chance to see Wallen live in 2025.
