Rising country artist Annie Bosko has released a heartfelt new single, ‘God Winks,' out now via Stone Country Records. The emotional track is inspired by real-life moments of unexpected clarity and faith—what Bosko calls signs from above that offer reassurance during life’s uncertain times.
For Bosko, “God Winks” is more than just a song—it’s a deeply personal tribute to her roots in faith and family. Raised in a home where spiritual guidance was central, Bosko recalls how her mother often described little signs from the universe as ‘God winks.' One such symbol was the hummingbird, which her mother associated with her late grandmother.
“‘God Winks’ is the song I’m most proud to have written,” said Bosko. “This song is about those moments when you feel like giving up, and God says, ‘Not yet. I’ve got your back.’ When we wrote it, it felt like God was in the room and we were just vessels channeling something bigger. When I sing it live, people cry—and to me, that is the greatest gift music can offer: a moment that moves the soul.”
I saw a hummingbird outside of my window
I knew it was her just sayin’ hello
Been 7 long years to the day He called her home
I pulled that ole six string outta the case
The same one she gave me when I turned 8
Been a long time since I wanted to play
Or even had a song to sing
Co-written by Bosko with Rachel Thibodeau, Jet Harvey, and Michael Wilkes, and produced by Trent Willmon, the track features touching lyrics that capture the power of divine reassurance through everyday experiences:
God winks, right outta nowhere
Just to let you know He's still there
When it's looking like nobody cares
God winks, in funny times and places
When all the dreams you wish feel wasted
When you think your ship’s about to sink, God winks
The release of “God Winks” follows Bosko’s well-received single “California Cowgirl,” which garnered praise for her blend of “West Coast cool and down-to-earth country” as described by Celeb Secrets. The outlet lauded Bosko’s ability to merge sun-soaked vocals with authentic country sensibilities.
Bosko’s momentum continues to build with her current duet ‘Better Than You' featuring Joe Nichols, which has become a Top 40 hit at Country radio. The song has landed in the top five most-added tracks for five consecutive weeks and drew critical acclaim from MusicRow for its emotional impact and stellar delivery.
Following high-profile performances at Stagecoach and Rodeo Houston, Bosko is scheduled to take the stage at several major festivals this summer, including Country Summer Music Festival, the North Dakota State Fair, CMA Music Fest, and Headwaters Country Jam.
