Newcomer Brandon Wisham impresses on new country rocker ‘Better Than the Day’

A bold new voice in country music is emerging with 22-year-old Brandon Wisham, whose latest single, ‘Better Than The Day,' delivers a powerful mix of heartache, grit, and hope — all anchored by his raw, undeniable talent.

Raised in Williamston, South Carolina, by way of Georgia, Wisham grew up the youngest of seven children. He picked up the guitar as a kid and was playing cover gigs in bars by the age of 15. But it was a tragedy that set his songwriting in motion: after losing his father to COVID-19, Wisham wrote his first song, ‘Pain Won’t Last,' a stirring, deeply personal track that opened the doors to a global publishing deal with Warner Chappell Music and The Core Entertainment.

Wisham’s talent quickly caught the attention of some of country’s biggest names. Country star Bailey Zimmerman featured ‘Pain Won’t Last' on his platinum-certified ‘Religiously. The Album' and brought Wisham along as a tour opener in 2024. Since then, Wisham has been captivating live audiences with little more than his soulful vocals and an acoustic guitar, including a string of dates supporting Josh Ross.

Now stepping into the studio spotlight, Wisham teamed up with Nashville producer Brandon Hood (known for his work with Ty Myers and Mackenzie Carpenter) to craft his debut run of singles — emotionally rich, honest songs that showcase both his vocal firepower and lyrical depth.

His second release, ‘Better Than The Day,' arrives as a raw-edged, country-rock anthem of moving on. It leans into the emotional weight of heartbreak, but also surges with a sense of forward momentum — a testament to Wisham’s ability to turn pain into power. With raspy, lived-in vocals and sharp, evocative lyrics, he paints a vivid picture of clawing through heartbreak and finding light on the other side.

“It’s a forget-you anthem,” Wisham says of the track, “but it’s also about getting stronger. It’s about being better — even if it’s just a little better — than you were yesterday.”

Following the March release of his debut single ‘Back Together,' a heart-tugging ballad that highlighted his vocal range and songwriting maturity, ‘Better Than The Day' cements Brandon Wisham’s place as one of country’s most promising new storytellers — a young artist with a voice that sounds anything but green.

With the kind of authenticity that can’t be taught and a sound rooted in both classic country and modern grit, Wisham isn’t just standing in the spotlight — he’s owning it. And with more music on the horizon, it’s clear he’s only just getting started.
