The Folio Society has announced that it will publish a stunning new limited edition of ‘Jane Austen: The Complete Novels' this September, in celebration of the beloved English author’s 250th birthday. Known for their high-end, meticulously crafted books, The Folio Society's forthcoming tribute to Austen will be a highly collectible edition worthy of one of the UK's most enduring and best-loved novelists.
The artisan collection features all six of Austen’s major novels — ‘Pride and Prejudice', ‘Sense and Sensibility', ‘Emma', ‘Mansfield Park', ‘Northanger Abbey' and ‘Persuasion'. Each book is hand-bound in cotton and silk jacquard cloth. The fabric is in the style that Austen herself once wore and often described in her writings.
“Woman is fine for her own satisfaction alone. No man will admire her the more, no woman will like her the better for it. Neatness and fashion are enough for the former, and a something of shabbiness or impropriety will be most endearing to the latter.” ― Jane Austen, Northanger Abbey

The aesthetic elegance encompasses a striking frontispiece from a woodcut, five full-colour lino-cut illustrations and fifteen vignettes, all by acclaimed artist Sarah Young. The typographic design is by Emily Benton, while calligrapher Ruth Rowland has crafted monograms for the set.
Kate Grimwade, Production Director at Folio Society, said: “We can’t wait to reveal the stories behind the making of this unique limited edition: it has been a spectacular and joyous process over the last few years, creating the most exquisite version of Austen’s novels.”
The six books are presented in a beautifully designed cloth-covered box, also by Benton, making this a showpiece worthy of any Austen devotee’s bookcase. Only 750 copies will be available, exclusively from foliosociety.com, starting 9th September 2025.
Tolkien's ‘The Hobbit' limited edition sold out in just 12 minutes — so Austen fans will need to act fast. The Folio Society’s limited edition runs now average a sell-out time of just four hours.
It’s not just a book collection — it’s a celebration of elegance, wit, and one of English literature’s most cherished voices.
