Check out Ashley Cooke’s playfully emotional new track ‘the f word’

Rising country star Ashley Cooke continues her breakout year with the release of her latest single, ‘the f word,' out now on all streaming platforms. The cleverly written track puts a fresh twist on expectations, as Cooke recounts the all-too-relatable moment of saying “the F word” in front of her partner’s mother — not the four-letter expletive, but the even scarier promise of “forever.”

The song, both humorous and heartfelt, captures the early stages of love when emotions run high and timing is everything. “I'm going to spend forever with you,” Cooke sings, cringing at her own intensity. The track’s vulnerable narrative and catchy hook have already begun resonating with fans.

“This song immediately caught my attention from the title,” Cooke shared. “It's brilliantly written and resonates with an experience I had in a past relationship. The song starts with ‘I try not to swear,' which cracks me up because I have the mouth of a sailor, often using many f-words.”

Cooke first introduced ‘the f word' to fans during a surprise performance at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena while opening for Kane Brown’s arena tour. A crowd of 20,000 got a first listen, and the enthusiastic response confirmed the song’s wide appeal. She also recently performed the track at the Country Radio Seminar to equally strong reactions.

Currently on tour with Kane Brown, Cooke continues to bring her signature energy to massive stages across the country. In addition to the arena tour, she’s slated for a run of her own headlining shows and festival appearances throughout the spring and summer.

The new single adds to what’s already been a standout 2025 for the Big Loud recording artist. She kicked off the year with a nomination for Best New Country Artist at the 2025 iHeartRadio Music Awards and made waves with the release of ‘all I forgot' featuring Joe Jonas, a powerful duet about heartbreak. Cooke also wrapped her sold-out ‘your place' Tour earlier this year, named after her chart-topping hit ‘your place,' which reached No. 1 on country radio.

Ashley Cooke is also set to appear at the upcoming ACM Awards in Texas, where she’s nominated for New Female Artist of the Year.
