Award-winning country artist Josh Ross has dropped his latest single, ‘Hate How You Look,' offering fans another glimpse into the new music on the horizon. The emotionally charged track follows recent releases ‘Leave Me Too' and the Gold-certified ‘Single Again,' continuing Ross’ momentum as one of country music’s fastest-rising stars.
Produced by longtime collaborator Matt Geroux and recorded in Nashville, ‘Hate How You Look' was written by Nicolas Sainato, Chris McKenna, Jessica Farren, and Christian Yancey. The lyrics dive into the raw aftermath of a breakup, with Ross’ signature vocal rasp delivering lines like, “Hate how you look in that one that you know I love red dress / Hate how it still gets my heart breakin’ beatin’ out my chest.”
“I loved how energetic the song felt right away, and I knew it’d be a fun one to add to the live set,” said Ross. “We’ve been playing it for the past few months, and it’s been a blast—I’m really excited for everyone to finally hear the recorded version. I hope fans can connect with all the emotions that you go through seeing someone move on without you.”
The past year has marked a career high for Ross. He recently took home his first JUNO Award for Country Album of the Year for his Gold-certified EP ‘Complicated,' where he also performed ‘Leave Me Too' during the televised show. The Canadian star was a top winner at the 2024 CCMAs and earned his first CMA recognition with the Jeff Walker Global Country Artist Award.
With over 970 million global streams and multiple Platinum and Gold-certified singles, Ross continues to dominate Canadian country radio. His hit ‘Trouble' reached No. 1 in Canada and earned RIAA Gold certification in the U.S., while ‘Single Again' is currently climbing the U.S. country airplay charts after topping the Canadian charts.
Following his recent run supporting Jelly Roll on The Beautifully Broken Great Northern Tour, Ross will continue touring throughout the U.S. and Canada this spring and summer. Upcoming appearances include the Grand Ole Opry on April 22, Boots in the Park on May 10, and Sand In My Boots on May 17.
