Dierks Bentley announces new album ‘Broken Branches’ celebrating the outliers of country life

Country music star Dierks Bentley has announced the release of his 11th studio album, ‘Broken Branches,' arriving June 13 via Capitol Records Nashville. More than two decades into his career, Bentley's latest project embraces the rough edges and resilient spirit of country life, celebrating the individuality that defines both the genre and its community. The eleven songs embrace unruly characters wherever they’re found, ultimately adding beauty to the whole, and is available now for pre-order HERE.

“The country music community has a lot of broken branches in it. That’s why we’re all here,” Bentley said. “We want to do something a little bit different, and I think everyone sees themselves like that – certainly in country. This is the people’s music and it represents that spirit of individuality so well – it’s just about doing it our own way.”

The album features 11 tracks that Bentley describes as grounded in acoustic roots but unafraid to explore unique sonic directions. Executive produced by Mary Hilliard Harrington, the album was brought to life with producers Jon Randall and Ross Copperman, alongside musicians including Charlie Worsham, Jedd Hughes, Rob McNelley, and Bryan Sutton.

Bentley co-wrote four of the tracks, while the remaining seven were sourced from some of Nashville’s most creative songwriting voices. He made a point to approach the process with fresh ears, often listening to raw demos while driving Tennessee backroads, unaware of who had written each song.

“I think that’s what’s special about country – we’re still making music in the studio with our buddies,” Bentley said. “We’re still getting together and talking about the songs and letting the musicians have a big say. It’s a good team – maybe a little messed up – but that’s the whole idea behind broken branches, so it just works.”

The title track ‘Broken Branches' sets the tone for the album with a rowdy yet reflective spirit and features both country legend John Anderson and rising star Riley Green. Other highlights include the foot-stomping ‘Cold Beer Can,' the bluegrass-leaning ‘Well Well Whiskey' and ‘Near You,' a heartfelt duet with Miranda Lambert. Songs like ‘Jesus Loves Me' and ‘Off the Map' explore vulnerability, heartache, and escape, while ‘For as Long as I Can Remember' and ‘Don’t Cry for Me' close the album with emotional depth and gratitude.
