Grand Ole Opry launches ‘Opry 100 Honors’ series to celebrate Country legends

As part of its ongoing Opry 100 celebration, the Grand Ole Opry, presented by Humana, will launch a new series of special tribute shows titled ‘Opry 100 Honors,' beginning May 13. Sponsored by Dan Post, the series will spotlight the legendary artists who helped shape the Opry’s first century, starting with Loretta Lynn, followed by Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash, and Charlie Daniels.

The first installment, honoring Loretta Lynn, will take place May 13 and feature performances by her sister and Opry member Crystal Gayle, granddaughter Emmy Russell, and the duo Twitty & Lynn, who represent the next generation of both Lynn and Conway Twitty’s families. Additional performances will come from Opry members Martina McBride, Carly Pearce, Ashley McBryde, and more.

On June 18, the Opry will pay tribute to Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash. The lineup includes performances from John Carter Cash and Ana Cristina Cash, The Tennessee Four featuring Cash’s grandson Thomas Gabriel on vocals, and Opry members The Gatlin Brothers, Lainey Wilson, and others.

The Charlie Daniels tribute is set for July 8, with performances from Opry members Trace Adkins, Jamey Johnson, Chris Young, and special guest Gretchen Wilson, among others.

“As we continue our Opry 100 celebration, we’re excited to open the door to the Opry’s next century and to laud each of the Opry’s current members,” said Dan Rogers, Opry executive producer. “It’s also important to us to honor some of the iconic artists of the past who helped the Opry achieve worldwide acclaim and ensured the show’s longevity. We’re looking forward to this series featuring the music of artists who became household names and whose legacies the Opry will still be celebrating in another 100 years.”

A portion of the ticket sales from each ‘Opry 100 Honors' show will benefit the Opry Trust Fund. The fund has supported country music professionals in times of need for more than 60 years, helping with medical expenses, emergencies, and financial hardships. Starting today, $5 from every ticket sold for the series will go directly to the fund.

Additional ‘Opry 100 Honors' shows are expected to be announced soon. For a full schedule, tickets, and more details on the Grand Ole Opry's 100th anniversary celebrations, visit opry.com and follow the Opry across social media platforms.
