The CMA announces the 2025 Country Music Hall of Fame inductees

The Country Music Association has announced the 2025 inductees into the Country Music Hall of Fame: legendary producer and executive Tony Brown, country music icon June Carter Cash, and superstar Kenny Chesney. The announcement took place at the Rotunda at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, hosted by Hall of Fame member Vince Gill and streamed live on CMA’s YouTube channel.

Brown will be inducted in the Non-Performer category, recognized for his groundbreaking work shaping modern country music since the 1980s. Cash will be honored in the Veterans Era Artist category, celebrating her six-decade career as a singer, songwriter, and performer. Chesney, one of country’s biggest stars since 2000, will enter in the Modern Era Artist category, cementing his place among the genre’s greatest hitmakers.

“These three inductees have each made a lasting impact on country music,” said CMA CEO Sarah Trahern. “Their contributions have shaped the genre’s history and will continue to inspire future generations.” Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum CEO Kyle Young echoed that sentiment, noting how Brown’s production prowess, Cash’s deep-rooted legacy, and Chesney’s chart-topping career have all played pivotal roles in country music’s evolution.

Brown, Cash’s family, and Chesney each expressed gratitude for the honor. “Being inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame makes it feel like you've truly made an impact,” said Brown. The Cash family called June’s recognition “well-deserved,” emphasizing her influence across generations. Chesney, reflecting on his journey, said, “I am humbled, grateful, and honored beyond my wildest dreams.” The formal induction ceremony will take place later this year.
