Luke Morley has announced the release of his upcoming album ‘Walking On Water,' set to arrive on August 1, 2025. The album's title track, which serves as the lead single, has already gained attention, with Rushonrock calling it “drenched in authenticity” and naming it their Red-Hot Track of the Week.
Speaking about the single and the album, Morley shared his thoughts on the new project. “Any first single for me should be a marker or statement of intent that gives you a taste of what’s to come, and I think ‘Walking On Water' does that well. It’s maybe a little bluesier than anything on ‘Songs From The Blue Room' and I’d say that the new album is a little rockier than the last. It may have something to do with not having to write a Thunder album for three years. Looking back, I think I may have been slightly reticent about releasing the last album because I wasn’t sure how people would react. The fact that ‘Songs From The Blue Room' was so well received made making this album a lot easier.”

A Rock Legacy and Solo Success
Morley is best known as the lead guitarist, songwriter, and producer of Thunder, the legendary British rock band with a career spanning over 35 years, seven Top 10 albums, and 18 Top 40 singles. Following Thunder’s hiatus after frontman Danny Bowes’ recovery from a stroke in 2022, Morley shifted his focus back to his solo work. His 2023 album ‘Songs From The Blue Room' was met with critical acclaim and topped the Official Indie Breaker Albums Chart.
With the new album on the horizon, Morley is also preparing to hit the road for a UK tour. Reflecting on his solo performances, he shared, “I took a bit of persuading to tour with the last album as I wasn’t sure whether I’d enjoy the role of lead singer and frontman, but once I’d come to terms with doing it my own way, I really enjoyed it. So there’s no hesitation with this album; I can’t wait!”
