Walter Presents is bringing Italian series ‘Cold Summer' to Channel 4 and C4 Streaming in April.
The series stars Alessio Boni, Paolo Sassanelli and Guilia Vecchio. It is created by Gianrico Carofiglio, Doriana Leondeff, Antonio Leotti and Oliviero Del Papa.
Bari, 1992: The city is gripped by fear as an escalating criminal feud follows the devastating arson of the Petruzzelli Theatre. Pietro Fenoglio, a carabinieri officer from Piedmont, is caught in the middle of the chaos. When the son of mafia boss Nicola Grimaldi is kidnapped, a ransom is paid—but the boy is found dead days later. The prime suspect is Vito Lopez, Grimaldi’s former right-hand man, who recently fell out with the boss.
In a shocking twist, Lopez surrenders and offers to become a state’s witness, confessing to multiple crimes but denying involvement in the child’s murder. As Fenoglio and his partner Pellecchia dig deeper, they uncover a terrifying truth: two of their own colleagues are responsible for the murder.
Now, Fenoglio must decide whether to bring justice against the very officers who once wore the same uniform. ‘Cold Summer' is a tense crime thriller about betrayal, mafia power, and a fight for justice in a city teetering on the edge of corruption.
Walter Presents: ‘Cold Summer' launches on Channel 4 on 13th April 2025 at midnight. The full boxset will be available on C4 Streaming from 11th April 2025.
