Composer Bear McCreary to play Indigo at The O2 in April

Composer Bear McCreary, who is behind some of the biggest film, TV and video game scores this Century, will kick off his first European tour with a show at Indigo at The O2.

The show will take place on 18th April 2025, and fans can expect to hear selections from the composer's career. McCreary is known for composing the music for ‘Battlestar Galactica', ‘Outlander', ‘The Walking Dead' and ‘God of War'.

A seven-piece band led by McCreary will bring his spectacular pieces to life in a rock concert setting, with audiences experiencing the music like never before. Singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Morgan Sorne will join McCreary at indigo at The O2 as the support act. The pair have collaborated on a range of projects including ‘The Witcher: Blood Origin', ‘Foundation', and ‘The Singularity'.

McCreary’s recent credits include creating an original score for the Amazon Studios record-breaking series ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power', expanding the iconic Middle-earth universe and crafting themes to complement grand, fantastic stories. Audiences will also be treated to music from ‘The Singularity', McCreary’s epic rock concept album released last May, which blends hard rock with cinematic orchestrations.

Two previously unreleased B-sides from the project, ‘Escape from the Machines (1995 Demo)' – recorded when McCreary was just fifteen years old – and ‘Supermassive Spiral', were released on 26th February. Both tracks reveal McCreary’s creative journey in producing ‘The Singularity', from an original recording (‘Escape from the Machines (1995 Demo)') to an epic orchestral hybrid piece that was left on the cutting-room floor (‘Supermassive Spiral').

Of the show, Bear McCreary says: “After celebrating the twentieth anniversary of my first screen credit, for composing the music to 2004’s ‘Battlestar Galactica', along with the release of my debut rock record, ‘The Singularity', the time has finally come to take my music on the road! I am thrilled to perform highlights from throughout my career and visit some of my favourite cities in the world. I look forward to connecting with fans and bringing my music to bombastic life on the concert stage. Let’s go!”

An Emmy and BAFTA Award-winning, and triple-Grammy-nominated composer, McCreary’s talents were identified by film-music legend Elmer Bernstein, the man behind the music of ‘The Magnificent Seven', ‘The Great Escape', and ‘To Kill A Mockingbird', at just sixteen years old.

Tickets for the show are available now at AEGPresents.co.uk, via official ticketing partner AXS or via TheO2.co.uk.
