Northern Ireland’s rising country star Gareth has released his latest single, ‘Quiet In This House,' a deeply personal song inspired by his close family ties and the emotional journey of moving to Nashville. The track has been praised for seamlessly blending his Irish roots with country music storytelling.
Gareth has been making waves in the industry, recently signing a publishing deal with BMG and releasing his single ‘Last Thing I Do' via Walk Off Entertainment. His new song, ‘Quiet In This House,' was written as his family prepared for their first visit to his new home in Nashville. Reflecting on the move, Gareth shared, “My family and I are very close. We grew up in the same house—mum, dad, granny, grandpa, and all my brothers and sisters. Every time I leave, my mum tells me it’s far too quiet. Moving to Nashville has been a blessing but also incredibly hard because I had to say goodbye to my family. This song is my way of sharing that story and all the emotions that come with it.”
Signing with BMG marks a major milestone for Gareth, setting the stage for the next chapter of his career. “I feel very fortunate to be in such great hands at BMG,” he said. “They see my vision as a songwriter and artist, and I’m ready to get to work.”
Since relocating to Nashville, Gareth has quickly adapted to life in Music City, moving into his first apartment and even adjusting to driving on the opposite side of the road. “Learning to drive here has been tough, but I haven’t crashed yet, so I must be doing something right,” he joked. His personal experiences continue to shape his songwriting, including in ‘Quiet In This House.'
Born and raised in Castlederg, Northern Ireland, Gareth has gained significant traction with his unique blend of Irish folk and country storytelling. His breakthrough came in 2024 with a viral cover of Noah Kahan’s ‘Stick Season,' which amassed over 25 million views and 15 million streams. This success led to his projects Covers (From Across the Pond) and his debut original EP ‘Changing Seasons,' earning over 25 million streams and airplay on stations like SiriusXM’s The Highway and Absolute Country Radio. He has also shared the stage with Brett Young and The 502s, solidifying his place as a rising force in country music.
Alongside ‘Quiet In This House,' fans can look forward to an acoustic video set for release on February 28. Looking ahead to 2025, Gareth will hit the road with Chayce Beckham, perform at the C2C Country to Country festival, and embark on his first headlining European tour. With his heartfelt songwriting and new partnership with BMG, Gareth is poised to make a lasting impact on country music while staying true to his roots.
Gareth has just returned to Nashville after touring Canada with Chayce Beckham and will perform a free show at The Basement on February 25 before heading back to the UK for C2C Berlin from March 7-9 and C2C London from March 14-16.
