Chase McDaniel is back with ‘Burned Down Heaven,' a deeply emotional ballad that captures the raw pain of loss and regret. Released via Big Machine Records, the Kentucky-born singer-songwriter pairs his latest single with a striking music video directed by Robby Stevens.
Co-written by McDaniel, Jon Nite, and Lindsay Rimes, ‘Burned Down Heaven' showcases McDaniel’s commanding baritone as he reflects on the heartbreak of hurting someone he truly cared for. Known for his introspective songwriting—seen in past hits like ‘Project,' which topped the Billboard Country Digital Song Sales chart in 2022—McDaniel brings a rare level of honesty and self-awareness to this new track.
“Burned Down Heaven is a personal story about what it felt like to break the heart of a really good person,” McDaniel shares. “There’s an accountability that comes with growing up, a shell of shame you carry as you move toward the kind of person you want to be. When you know what heartbreak feels like, and then do it to someone you love, it feels like you’ve committed an unforgivable sin.”
Produced by Lindsay Rimes (Kane Brown, Nate Smith), ‘Burned Down Heaven' unfolds with a haunting intensity. From the opening line—“If this ain’t hell, then it’s close”—to the gut-wrenching chorus, the song paints a vivid picture of regret:
“Feels like I burned down heaven in that driveway / I learned my lesson a few tears too late / Dropping words like matches / Leaving her heart in ashes / I can’t take it back no matter what I say.”
With a blend of soulful guitar tones, soaring strings, and powerful drums, the track builds to an emotional climax, hinting at the possibility of redemption.
‘Burned Down Heaven' is available now on all streaming platforms. Watch the official music video and experience the full impact of McDaniel’s storytelling.
