Fresh off their record-breaking seventh consecutive win as CMA Group of the Year, Old Dominion turned their celebration into something even more meaningful. The band played seven special shows at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium over four nights, with all proceeds benefiting the charities they’ve supported over the years.
With the help of surprise guests including Bear Rinehart of NEEDTOBREATHE, Steven Wilson Jr., and Phil Vassar, the band raised an impressive $1,250,000 for organizations such as MusiCares, Save the Music, Backline Care, Opry Trust Fund, CMA Foundation, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and The Ramsey Foundation.
As a special treat for fans, Old Dominion also released their latest single, ‘Making Good Time', a nostalgia-filled track reflecting on their journey from aspiring musicians to country superstars.
“There are so many ways to celebrate something like this,” said lead singer Matthew Ramsey. “This song captures the spark of who every guy in this band was when we started chasing this dream.”
The Ryman performances were packed with memorable moments, including surprise appearances by ERNEST and The War & Treaty, who brought the house down with an uplifting rendition of ‘Lean on Me.'
In the excitement, Ramsey let a major announcement slip—Old Dominion is heading back on tour this summer. The official tour details will be revealed on February 19, but the band has confirmed they will be hitting the road for a full headlining tour.
“Sometimes you get so caught up in the moment, you get carried away,” Ramsey admitted. “I didn’t realise I was going to do it, but then I did. At least now our fans—the ‘Odies’—know that we’ll be back out playing our own shows soon.”
With a reputation for stellar musicianship, hit songwriting, and a deep commitment to giving back, Old Dominion continues to prove why they are one of country music’s most beloved bands. Their charitable donations will provide a significant boost to organisations doing crucial work, reinforcing their dedication to making a difference beyond the stage.
