Country icons Rascal Flatts have teamed up with pop superstars the Jonas Brothers for their new single, ‘I Dare You', released via Big Machine Label Group. The song, penned by Nick Jonas, Dan + Shay’s Shay Mooney, Dewain Whitmore Jr., and Tommy English, brings together two powerhouse acts for a collaboration that blends country storytelling with pop energy.
We can hear Shay Mooney's influence all over this song which feels like summertime in a three minute blast that's guaranteed to put a massive smile on your face everytime you hear it!
“I think the fact that it was the Jonas Brothers really piqued our interest,” Rascal Flatts bassist Jay DeMarcus shares. “We’ve got great respect for those guys and what they’ve been able to do in their careers. It was yet another opportunity to collaborate with somebody we respect in the music industry, and it was such a blast doing it.” Lead singer Gary LeVox adds, “The message is great. You girls out there protecting your heart—don’t just keep it all for yourself, you’re going to have to jump off the cliff sooner or later.”
The track marks Rascal Flatts’ first new music since 2020, when they released the How They Remember You EP before celebrating their 20th anniversary with a best-of collection. Though the trio announced their farewell in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, ‘I Dare You' signals an unexpected but exciting return for one of country music’s most beloved bands.
