The outrageously hilarious comedy play DocDoc, which has entertained over 4 million people in 37 countries, is making its UK premiere. Presented by Morris Gilbert and Óskar Eiriksson, this laugh-out-loud production will delight audiences at the Churchill Theatre, Bromley from February 5th–15th, and the Palace Theatre, Southend from February 18th–23rd, 2025.
A masterclass in farce, ‘DocDoc' shines a comedic spotlight on the quirks and foibles we all share. The story follows Dr. Cooper, a renowned specialist in obsessive-compulsive disorders, who is inexplicably late for his own clinic. Meanwhile, his increasingly eccentric patients—each battling their own compulsions—pack the waiting room, desperate for help. With the doctor nowhere to be found, chaos ensues as Practice Assistant Anna valiantly tries to maintain order. The group eventually resorts to their own brand of group therapy, leading to side-splittingly funny results.
The stellar cast features Sophie Bloor (‘Gay Pride and No Prejudice') as Lili, Gareth Brierley (‘The Diplomat') as Fred, Ryan Early (‘Coronation Street') as Lee, Joanna Hudson-Fox (‘Emmerdale') as Blanche, Isabella Leung (‘A Bouffon Play About Hong Kong') as Anna, Julia J Nagle (‘9 to 5 The Musical') as Mary, and Leon Stewart (‘Wish You Were Dead') as Otto. Rhîan Crowley-McLean (‘Witness for the Prosecution') and Joshua Ford (‘Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power') join as understudies.
‘DocDoc' is written by Laurent Baffie, with an English version by Julian Quintanilla and an adaptation by Susie McKenna and Clarisa Butler. Directed by Ian Talbot (‘The Mousetrap'), with original direction by Lia Jelin and design by Paula Sabina, this production promises an unforgettable comedic experience.
