‘Strictly Come Dancing' has announced that Gorka Márquez will be stepping in for Carlos Gu during the ‘Strictly Come Dancing' 2024 Christmas Special.
Carlos had originally been announced as the. partner of Vogue Williams, but he's now having to withdraw due to injury. In a statement, a ‘Strictly Come Dancing' spokesperson said:
“Unfortunately, professional dancer, Carlos Gu, has sustained an ankle injury so is unable to participate in the ‘Strictly Come Dancing' Christmas Special alongside contestant Vogue Williams. Fellow professional dancer, Gorka Márquez will be stepping in for him and dancing with Vogue. We all wish him a speedy recovery”
While we're disappointed that we won't be seeing Carlos in the Christmas Special, we know that Vogue will be in very capable hands with Gorka.
The ‘Strictly Come Dancing' 2024 Christmas Special is due to air on BBC One and iPlayer on Christmas Day. The six celebrities – Josh Widdicombe, Tayce, Vogue Williams, Nitro, Tamzin Outhwaite and Billy Monger – will be battling to lift the trophy and make their Christmas extra special.
‘Strictly Come Dancing' 2024 continues tonight on BBC One at 7.20pm when the results of Musicals Week will be revealed.
