Multi-award-winning Métis artist Kyle McKearney continues to solidify his status as one of Canadian country music’s most captivating voices with the release of his latest single, ‘Tomorrow.' The deeply introspective track, now available on all streaming platforms, will be showcased during the season finale of CBC’s hit series Heartland, airing December 1.
In a career milestone, McKearney will also make a special guest appearance in the episode, performing ‘Tomorrow' with his full band in what is being hailed as one of the show’s biggest musical moments to date.
A Powerful New Single with Deep Roots
Blending the timeless essence of bluegrass with the gritty heart of alt-country, ‘Tomorrow' is a soul-stirring anthem that explores themes of love, loss, and the afterlife. Co-written by McKearney alongside Noeline Hofmann and James Jannetty, the song offers listeners a chance to reflect on life’s biggest questions.
“‘Tomorrow’ is a question,” McKearney explains. “Do we get to be with our loved ones after we leave this world? Does the longing and suffering veto the risk this character is taking with their life on earth? I wrote this bluegrass-leaning tune with my friends, Noeline Hofmann and James Jannetty, at the kitchen table. We all left the session knowing that we had written something meaningful.”
A Big Year for Kyle McKearney
‘Tomorrow' is the latest release from McKearney’s highly anticipated third studio album, co-produced with Russel Broom and mixed by GRAMMY Award winner Vance Powell. The track follows ‘Hold On Goodbye,' a poignant single that highlights the album’s emotional depth, as well as standout releases like the heart-wrenching ‘Wedding Day,' the fundraising anthem ‘Alberta, Save My Soul,' and the politically charged ‘Fight This Fire.'
The project builds on the massive success of McKearney’s sophomore album ‘A Traveler’s Lament' which won the 2023 CCMA Award for Alternative Country Album of the Year and earned 25 award nominations, 10 wins, and a 2024 GRAMMY Award shortlist nod in the Best Regional Roots Album category.
With ‘A Traveler’s Lament' McKearney transitioned from performing in local bars to headlining major festival stages and embarking on his first UK tour earlier this year. He’s now expanding his fan base across Europe and the US, while gearing up for a landmark 2025 with more new music, live performances, and collaborations in the works.
