‘Charge Around the Globe' is coming to Prime Video this month, fronted by Lexie Limitless.
Limitless is the youngest person to travel to every country on earth and for the series she was challenged to drive around the world in an electric vehicle. The new three-part adventurous docu-series tests the limits of electric cars and charging worldwide.
Limitless had an ambitious target to cover over 29,000km in 90 days, but in the end her journey spanned over 200 days, with Limitless travelling to 27 countries including six continents and to see if she can set one new world record, meeting some incredible people along the way.
Inspired by the acclaimed explorer Aloha Wanderwell – the first woman to drive around the world over 100 years ago – Lexie begins her journey in Nice, France and travels west, through Europe, Africa, Australia, Asia, South America, and North America, before returning to her starting point of Nice, to see if she has successfully set a new world record. Along the way, she meets extraordinary people, navigates difficult terrains, and faces the challenges of a constantly evolving charging infrastructure that puts her, and her record breaking attempt, to the test.

It’s because of women like Aloha Wanderwell who have paved the way and inspired me that I've been motivated to take my own journeys, and I hope I can do that for others. Being on the road and keeping the electric car charged was difficult, but the car quickly became my home away from home. The amazing people I met and the beautiful landscapes I saw around the world kept me pushing and excited to set this new world record.”
‘The Charge Around The Globe' series was created by multi-award-winning Executive Producer Mark Saben who oversaw the launch of the BAFTA winning ‘Race Across The World' and ‘Celebrity Race Across The World' series alongside his work as showrunner for ‘The Apprentice'.
Chris Faith was the multi-award-winning Director and Series Producer/Director of the series alongside his work on multiple long running series including the two times BAFTA award winning series of ‘Big Zuu's Big Eats' (UKTV / BBC), ‘Jamie and Jimmy’s Friday Night Feast' / ‘Where To, Britain?' (Channel 4), ‘Almost Royal' (BBC America), ‘People Just Do Nothing' (BBC) and ‘Patriot Act' (Netflix). The series was supported by Ford, the production presented a myriad of challenges and adventures.
Executive Producer & Format Creator Mark Saben said: “I was immediately drawn to Aloha’s remarkable story and was surprised it was not more widely known. It felt like an amazing opportunity to celebrate her achievement and this was inspiration for our very own world record attempt. We wanted to see what was possible with an EV and how far we could take it. EV technology is rapidly advancing in the more developed continents with charging infrastructure, but we knew that it would be more challenging in the more remote parts of the world that we were keen to explore.
Series Director Chris Faith added: “We researched and planned this huge logistical operation with a brilliant team of producers and production in retracing and recceing the journey electric KM by electric KM. The trailblazing contributors that Lexie met throughout her journey were hugely important in terms of adding texture and relatability to the scale and jeopardy of her epic journey across each leg and continent.”
