‘Pimpinero: Blood and Oil’ coming to Prime Video this month

Pimpinero: Blood and Oil‘ will launch on Prime Video on Friday 22nd November 2024 it has been confirmed.

The launch comes following the film’s official selection and world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, as well as featuring at prestigious film festivals around the world, including Rio International Film Festival, Festival Internacional de Cine de Morelia, Cine Latino Film Festival, New York Latino Film Festival, among others.

‘Pimpinero: Blood and Oil' is set in the desert bordering Colombia and Venezuela, where gasoline smugglers known as “pimpineros” risk their lives transporting illegal fuel from one country to another. When Juan (Alejandro Speitzer) – the youngest in a clan of three brothers entangled in this perilous trade – is forced to work for a sinister rival, the underbelly of the business is laid bare with tragic consequences. Determined to uncover the gruesome secrets that shroud this no-man’s-land, Juan’s girlfriend Diana (Laura Osma) embarks on a quest for the truth.

The film is directed by Andrés Baiz (‘Griselda') and it is produced by Dynamo. It's by María Camila Arias (‘Birds of Passage') and directed, written and produced by Andrés Baiz.

‘Pimpinero: Blood and Oil' adds to Prime Video’s growing selection of International Originals, including recent global hits; ‘My Fault' (‘Culpa Mía’), ‘Maxton Hall – The World Between Us', and Golden Globe winner ‘Argentina 1985', as well as upcoming titles such as ‘Your Fault' (‘Culpa Tuya'), ‘Freedom' (‘Libre’), and ‘The Red Virgin' (‘La Virgen Roja’).
