Bowen * Young have unveiled a reimagined, electrifying rendition of their anthemic track, ‘Hair of the Dog,' featuring award-winning UK singer-songwriter Kezia Gill. Fresh off her The Story So Far tour across the UK and Ireland, Kezia lends her powerful vocals to this new version, adding an extra layer of intensity to the Nashville-based duo’s sound.
The collaboration was sparked when Bowen * Young and Kezia Gill crossed paths backstage at London’s Highways festival at Royal Albert Hall. Following an impromptu jam session, Clare Bowen and Brandon Young were struck by the natural chemistry between them and Gill, leading to this spirited collaboration. “It’s about picking yourself up, dusting yourself off, and remembering who the hell you are,” Bowen * Young said, reflecting on the meaning of the song. Kezia Gill adds, “I loved their energy, and our voices just clicked. It’s such a pleasure to be part of this track – I love the song, and I can’t wait for it to be out in the world.”
The original ‘Hair of the Dog' appears on Bowen * Young’s debut album Us, a 10-track collection produced with Sean McConnell and Roger Alan Nichols. With its cinematic Americana' style, Us delves deep into themes of resilience, love, and unity. Read our review of the album here.
