On Saturday night (October 19), Morgan Wallen took the stage at Charlotte’s Bank of America Stadium for the last performance of his historic One Night At A Time Tour. The show marked the end of a two-year, 87-show journey that saw the country music superstar performing at 51 stadiums, arenas, and amphitheaters across 10 countries and three continents, captivating over 3.1 million fans in total.
Wallen, a CMA Entertainer of the Year nominee, kicked off the evening by thanking the crowd for their support. “This is the last show of the One Night At A Time tour, and before I walked out on stage tonight, some of my team gave me a plaque that said this is the highest-selling country music tour of all time,” Wallen shared. “Thank you guys very much in Charlotte, North Carolina, for being a part of that. This has been a special couple of years for me and my boys. It’s a bittersweet night for me.”
The night was filled with excitement and special appearances, including former NFL wide receiver Steve Smith Sr., who joined Wallen as his final walkout guest on Friday and Saturday. Throughout the tour, Wallen’s stage entrances became a signature moment, often accompanied by celebrity guests like Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, Tom Brady, Mike Tyson, and Peyton Manning, further electrifying crowds at each stop.
Over the course of 2023 and 2024, Wallen shattered attendance records at major venues, including Ford Field, Ohio Stadium, Truist Park, and U.S. Bank Stadium. He made history as the first country artist to perform multiple nights at these iconic stadiums. His three-night run at Nashville’s Nissan Stadium in May set a new attendance record for a country music event, with 153,145 tickets sold. Billboard praised Wallen’s Nashville shows as a “premier display of his entertainer of the year-worthy credentials.”
Wallen also made a mark internationally, becoming the first artist to sell out three consecutive nights at Toronto’s Budweiser Stage in 2023. His first-ever headlining European tour in 2024 included sold-out performances in cities like Oslo, Amsterdam, Glasgow, and two nights in Dublin. He also hosted the largest Country music show ever held in the UK when he headlined Hyde Park in London in July.
One of the tour's most memorable moments came in September when Wallen returned to his hometown of Knoxville, Tennessee, for two sold-out shows at Neyland Stadium. Playing for a combined 156,161 fans, Wallen broke the previous attendance record held by The Jackson 5. The shows also delivered a $27 million economic boost to the city and Knox County, with over 90,000 visitors drawn to Knoxville.
The One Night At A Time Tour was named after Wallen’s 2023 album ‘One Thing At A Time' which spent 19 non-consecutive weeks atop the Billboard 200 chart, setting a record for the most weeks at No. 1 for a country album. The album became the most-streamed project of the year on Spotify and produced seven No. 1 singles, including the 7x Platinum hit “Last Night,” which made history as the longest-running No. 1 solo song on the Hot 100.
Beyond the music, Wallen has also made a significant impact through his Morgan Wallen Foundation (MWF). A portion of every ticket sold goes toward MWF’s mission to provide children with opportunities in sports and music, and to support communities in need, particularly in times of crisis.
As Wallen wraps up this chapter of his career, fans have much to look forward to. Last Friday (October 18), he gave fans a taste of what’s to come with the release of his new song ‘Love Somebody' which offers a candid reflection on the search for authenticity. The song, co-written by Wallen with John Byron, Ashley Gorley, and others, is now available to stream.
Looking ahead to 2025, Wallen will headline the inaugural Sand In My Boots Festival in Gulf Shores, Alabama, alongside artists like Post Malone, Brooks & Dunn, and HARDY. The festival will feature three days of music, with additional performers including Riley Green, T-Pain, Diplo, and more. For festival details and tickets, visit sandinmybootsfest.com.
