Lanie Gardner announces debut album ‘A Songwriter’s Diary’

Rising country star Lanie Gardner is making waves in Nashville and beyond with the announcement of her highly anticipated debut album, ‘A Songwriter's Diary,' due out on October 25 via BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville. This 10-track collection, written entirely by Gardner, offers an intimate look into her personal journey and growth as an artist, acting as both a reflective journal and a bold introduction to her musical identity.

In celebration of the album’s upcoming release, Gardner has also unveiled a brand-new song today, titled ‘Somewhere, Nowhere in Carolina.' This soulful track captures Gardner’s feelings of disconnection from the music industry and her longing for home during challenging times. “I was defeated and wanted nothing more than to be ‘somewhere’ back home and ‘nowhere’ in my career,” Gardner shared, reflecting on her struggles. She found healing through songwriting, stating, “Today, I write songs for my fans, my friends, and my family who pulled me through such a dark time. But that day… I wrote a song for me.”

Alongside her music, Gardner is giving back to her community. In response to a recent natural disaster, the Burnsville, NC native has organized a food and necessities drive in Nashville, with plans to deliver donations to her hometown and surrounding areas on October 5.

Gardner first gained widespread recognition after her cover of Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Dreams' went viral, amassing over 55 million views. Since then, she has shifted focus to her original music, connecting with fans on a deeper level. Her debut album ‘A Songwriter’s Diary' includes previously released fan favourites like ‘Lord Knows' and ‘Mountains and Miller,' offering a poignant glimpse into her personal and artistic evolution. The album’s title also nods to her popular Instagram series of the same name.

With her distinctive blend of classic rock, soulful vocals, and country influences, Gardner has quickly carved out a unique space for herself in the music world. Inspired by her late grandfather’s love of music, she has transformed from a gifted storyteller into a celebrated artist. Her rising star is further illuminated by high-profile collaborations with industry icons like David Guetta and MORTEN, as well as her appearance on the Twisters soundtrack alongside Luke Combs and Lainey Wilson.

Gardner’s journey has been marked by notable milestones, including her performance at this year’s CMA Fest and tours with major acts like Jelly Roll and ZZ Ward. Her powerful stage presence and ability to connect with fans have only strengthened her following, recently culminating in her addition to the 2025 Stagecoach lineup, where she’ll perform alongside headliners Jelly Roll, Zach Bryan, and Luke Combs.

As Lanie Gardner continues her meteoric rise, she remains dedicated to creating music that resonates deeply with her listeners while making a positive impact on the world. Her story is one of passion, resilience, and dreams—promising many more unforgettable moments and music to come.
