Cross Canadian Ragweed confirm historic reunion show

The rumors are true. Cross Canadian Ragweed and Turnpike Troubadours will co-headline a massive concert at Boone Pickens Stadium in Stillwater, Oklahoma, on April 12, 2025. This monumental reunion show will feature some of Red Dirt’s biggest names, including The Great Divide, Jason Boland and The Stragglers, and Stoney LaRue, making it one of the most anticipated events of the year. Tickets go on sale October 11, with pre-sales beginning October 7 at 10:00 AM Central. Fans can purchase tickets at www.okstate.com/concert and sign up for pre-sale access at www.theboysfromoklahoma.com from October 1-5.

Reflecting on the band’s history, Cross Canadian Ragweed frontman Cody Canada shared, “The thing that sticks out the most to me about Ragweed was all the people we met. People that I’m still friends with from coast to coast. I’m nostalgic for that. Everyone should have a little nostalgia in their life. So, let’s get together, sound really good, and make everyone smile—including ourselves, McClure, Jason, Stoney, and the Turnpike boys.”

This event will be the first concert held at Boone Pickens Stadium, and Oklahoma State University’s Director of Athletics, Chad Weiberg, expressed excitement: “We are thrilled to bring this Oklahoma-based lineup to the home of the Cowboys. This show will benefit OSU’s NIL efforts and provide a fantastic experience for our students, alumni, and the Stillwater community. We thank DMG for making this happen.”

Cross Canadian Ragweed, the influential indie country rock band from Stillwater, dominated the touring circuit for over a decade, playing sold-out shows across the country. Known for their electrifying on-stage chemistry, the band captured the hearts of a devoted fan base that crossed all borders and genres. Their disbandment in 2010 left a void in the Red Dirt music scene, but their loyal fans have kept the Ragweed legacy alive. Cody Canada recently experienced that love firsthand during a performance at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium, where a packed crowd sang the band’s hits back to him.

After sparking excitement by reactivating their social media accounts for the first time since 2011, Cross Canadian Ragweed has officially confirmed their reunion show, sending fans into a frenzy. This concert will be a chance for fans to experience the nostalgia of one of Red Dirt’s most iconic bands, alongside Turnpike Troubadours and other Red Dirt legends.

Oklahoma native and Rolling Stone contributor Josh Crutchmer will also release a new book, Red Dirt Unplugged: Singers, Songs and Stories Shining a Spotlight on Heartland Roots Music, on December 13, 2024. Featuring a foreword by Cody Canada and a full-band interview with Cross Canadian Ragweed, the book chronicles the rise of the Red Dirt music scene and provides an insider’s perspective on the genre’s enduring influence.

From mentions in Dierks Bentley’s “Free and Easy” to Koe Wetzel’s “Ragweed,” and tributes like The Years: A MusicFest Tribute to Cody Canada, Cross Canadian Ragweed’s influence continues to resonate throughout the music world. Now, fans have the chance to relive the band’s magic in what promises to be an unforgettable night.

Don't miss the chance to witness this historic reunion show and experience the pure, unfiltered energy of Red Dirt music.
