Eden Golan has released her new single ‘Older' along with the accompanying music video.
The song was written by Golan, Victoria ‘Ryann’ Zaro, Sarah Solovay, Ido Zmishlany and Stav Beger. It was produced by Stav Beger and Ido Zmishlany. ‘Older' opens with a group of children singing before Golan's lead vocal comes in. She sings about lost childhood and being forced to grow up too soon, likely in response to what's been happening in Israel since Hamas' horrific attack on 7th October 2023.
The music video directed by Ofir Peretz features Golan performing the song and dancing, along with scenes of children interacting and showing their frustration with the world around them. It's a powerful song and video, that further highlights what a rising talent Golan in.
‘Older' is Golan's first song since competing in Eurovision for Israel with her song ‘Hurricane'. This year's contest was surrounded by controversy with many countries calling for Israel to quit due to the on-going war with Hamas. During the contest Golan was ignored by many of the contestants and she was booed by portions of the audience during her performances.
Despite what she went through, Golan finished in fifth place after securing a huge amount of support from the voting public.
