Dasha's ‘What Happens Now?' deluxe album adds five new tracks that perfectly encapsulate the complexities of small-town love, heartbreak, and personal growth. These additional songs showcase her sharp songwriting and ability to blend catchy melodies with relatable, emotionally charged lyrics.
The standout track, ‘Leaving Don’t Mean Goodbye,' infuses funky banjo vibes with a ‘Red'-era Taylor Swift influence, capturing the frustration of trying—and failing—to move on from an ex. The song’s catchy melody and sharp lyrics make it a relatable anthem for anyone caught in the cycle of weakness and confusion. In ‘Way Too Drunk,' Dasha delivers a fun, retro-themed Pop Country tune that humorously recounts the consequences of a wild night out. The song builds to a delightful chorus, echoing the carefree spirit of a summer filled with viral “Brat Summer” trends, and captures Dasha’s playful side perfectly.
New single ‘Didn’t I' brings an uptempo, foot-stomping energy with its driving drums and infectious fiddle, while album highlight ‘Ain’t No Friend of Mine' offers a fierce, small-town anthem about betrayal.
