Country superstar Chris Young has scored his 14th number one single as ‘Young Love & Saturday Nights' soars to the top of the Country Aircheck/Mediabase chart this week.
Young shares the accolade with his co-producers Corey Crowder and Chris DeStefano along with the song’s writers, Ashley Gorley, Jesse Frasure, Josh Thompson and, posthumously, David Bowie. The song uses an interpolation of the 1974 hit, ‘Rebel Rebel'.
“Every number one is special, but this one – my 14th – really hits differently,” shares Young. “To be part of Bowie finding success in country music eight years after his passing is truly an honor and it’s been wild to watch audiences at my live shows reacting to this song that has its roots in a rock staple from 50 years ago. Just wow.”
Three years in the making and packed with countless hours of writing and listening sessions, Young’s latest album, ‘Young Love & Saturday Nights', is available now. The project is 18 songs deep, his most extensive and wide-ranging work to date.
Young flexes as a writer on 15 of the album’s 18 sides, is the sole producer on 3 songs, and shares co-producer credits with longtime creative partners, DeStefano and Crowder, on the rest.
