Wyatt Flores announces new album ‘Welcome to the Plains’

Rising country star Wyatt Flores is set to release his highly anticipated full-length debut album ‘Welcome To The Plains' on October 18th via Island Records. Fans can pre-order and pre-save the album here. Ahead of the album’s release, Flores has dropped his new single, ‘Don't Wanna Say Goodnight,' accompanied by an official music video.

Produced by Beau Bedford, known for his work with Orville Peck and Shane Smith & The Saints, ‘Welcome To The Plains' was recorded between Los Angeles and Asheville. The album features 14 tracks that reflect Flores' journey from his hometown of Stillwater, Oklahoma, to life on the road, showcasing his signature blend of traditional country and folk sounds. Collaborations with notable songwriters like Ketch Secor of Old Crow Medicine Show and Aaron Raitiere add depth to the project, which explores themes of home, family, and the search for happiness.

Flores describes the album as a deeply personal project, saying, “It’s an album about home and a search for happiness. It’s an album about Stillwater, Oklahoma, and all the other little towns that have raised people like you and me. It’s an album about my family, and the people and places in my life who have defined who I am today. This album is happy on one side and heartbreak on the other, and whoever you are, I hope you find something you love in here.”

Born and raised in Oklahoma, the Mexican-American artist has become one of country music’s most compelling new voices, with three acclaimed EPs, including Half Life, released earlier this spring. His work has earned praise from critics, with The New York Times highlighting his ability to tap into deep emotions.

Flores' breakout year continues with a nomination for Emerging Act of the Year at the 2024 Americana Music Association Honors & Awards.
