Miranda Lambert, the triple GRAMMY winner and Academy of Country Music Entertainer of the Year, has crafted a musical love letter to her Lone Star roots with her new album, ‘Postcards from Texas.' Recorded at Austin’s iconic Arlyn Recording Studios, this 14-track project captures the essence of Texas music, seamlessly transitioning from heartfelt ballads to raucous rockers, acoustic gems, and steel guitar-driven laments. The album is set to release on September 13, and pre-orders are available now.

To build excitement for the release, Lambert has already shared two tracks: the intense ‘Wranglers' and the defiant ‘Dammit Randy.' These songs set the stage for the album's eclectic mix, but it's the dance-floor-ready ‘Alimony' that truly showcases Lambert’s playful side. Featuring a descending electric guitar riff and a lively honky-tonk shuffle, ‘Alimony' is a humorous take on the often grim subject of divorce, complete with a catchy pre-chorus and bar-room piano vibes.
Reflecting on the creation of ‘Alimony,' Lambert recalls a moment of inspiration with collaborators Shane McAnally and Natalie Hemby. “We were out in my barn, talking about song ideas when Shane mentioned, ‘If you’re gonna leave me in San Antone, remember the Alamo-neeeee.’ Natalie and I were sold instantly,” Lambert shares. They quickly turned the clever title into a full-fledged song, injecting it with humor and a classic country shuffle that Lambert knew would be a hit in her live performances.
Drawing from personal experiences, Lambert infused ‘Alimony' with stories reminiscent of her childhood, growing up with parents who were private investigators in Dallas. “I’d heard about divorce cases my whole life,” Lambert says with a laugh. This personal touch, combined with the stellar musicianship of GRAMMY-winning producer Jon Randall and a team of talented players, brings “Alimony” to life with a vibrant, energetic sound that’s pure Texas.
With a mix of wit and heartfelt storytelling, ‘Postcards from Texas' promises to deliver on Lambert’s unique perspective on love, life, and resilience. The album embodies the spirit of self-determination and humor that defines Texan culture, with Lambert’s signature wink’n’nudge approach woven throughout. Fans can download the lyrics for ‘Alimony' now and get ready for the full album's release in September.
