MCA Nashville recording artist Josh Turner is gearing up to release his 10th studio album, ‘This Country Music Thing' on August 16. The album is produced by longtime collaborator Kenny Greenberg and showcases Turner's signature sound with a blend of new tracks and familiar tones.
Today, Turner unveiled a new track from the upcoming album titled ‘Down In Georgia,' penned by Tyler Booth, Anthony Olympia, and Brent Rupard. This follows the April release of ‘Heatin’ Things Up,' another track from the album. Turner himself contributed to the songwriting on three tracks of This Country Music Thing. Additionally, new exclusive merchandise items for Josh Turner fans are now available. The vinyl edition of the album will be released on September 13.
‘Down in Georgia' sets the tone for the album with its feel-good declaration of Southern comfort. Turner wanted the lead-off track to have a rich texture, combining an arena-ready foundation with acoustic hooks and quick-hitting lyrics. “I think they’ve been reading my mail because I married a girl from Georgia and we actually moved to Georgia last year,” says the South Carolina native, highlighting the personal connection he feels to the song.
