Miranda Lambert drops fiery new Video for ‘Wranglers’

Country music icon Miranda Lambert has set the stage ablaze with her latest release, ‘Wranglers.' The track, which debuted last month, marked Lambert's biggest streaming debut to date and serves as the launchpad for her new partnership with Republic Records, bolstered by the Nashville-based Big Loud. Now, the reigning queen of the Academy of Country Music presents the official music video for this powerful anthem of empowerment.

Filmed on location outside Austin, Texas, the video embodies the spirit of liberation and resilience captured in the song. Lambert, along with Grammy-winning songwriter/producer Jon Randall and a band of iconic musicians, recorded this new music at the legendary Arlyn Recording Studios. Directed by Trey Fanjoy, who has helmed many of Lambert's award-winning videos, the ‘Wranglers' video features Lambert’s childhood best friend Laci, actress Elle Lamont, Jessica Stroup, and Christopher Backus, adding a layer of star power and personal connection to the visuals.

The video echoes Lambert’s fiery breakout hit, ‘Kerosene,' with its theme of burning away the past to forge a new path. In a nod to her roots, the gas can used in the video is a replica of her first kerosene can, and the matchbook is the same one used in the original ‘Kerosene' shoot nearly two decades ago. Variety praised the parallels, noting Lambert's consistent evolution and controlled burns throughout her career, making “Wranglers” a perfect addition to her repertoire of defiant anthems.

The video is a testament to Lambert's enduring ethos of strength and independence, reflecting a creative force that continues to find new depths. Written by Audra Mae, Evan McKeever, and Ryan Carpenter, the song is inspired by a real-life conversation between Lambert and Mae, encapsulating the essence of reclaiming one's power. Lambert describes ‘Wranglers' as a “classic tale of a woman taking her power back,” resonating with anyone who has ever sought strength and revenge after being wronged.

As Lambert gears up for select live performances, including a benefit concert for her MuttNation Foundation at Nashville’s Ascend Amphitheater on Oct. 5, fans can expect more from this powerhouse artist.
