British prime minister recently told ‘The Daily T' podcast, which is produced by The Daily Telegraph that he is ‘getting into' Country music! He mentioned that a number of his friends and some of his protection officers listen to Country music and it's rubbing off on him to the extent that he has asked them to send him some of their favourite songs.
In the podcast he then went on to name check three artists and his three favourite songs from them! Below you can find the Prime Minister's three favourite Country songs!
Chris Stapleton – Tennessee Whiskey
I mean, it's hardly a shock, right, that Stapleton has made it into number 10 Downing Street – the guy has been just about universally ubiquitous for the past 8 years or so. We'd have preferred him to name check a deeper cut or even Stapleton's current release, ‘Think I'm in Love With You' with Dua Lipa, maybe, but it is what it is. We wonder how many of this songs 781 million Youtube views were Rishi's? There's a great song on Stapleton's new album, ‘Higher' called ‘The Bottom' which might be more appropriate for Rishi or maybe even opening track, ‘What Am I Gonna Do?'
Lainey Wilson – Watermelon Moonshine
Again, a fairly obvious song given its recent popularity. We suggest, given the state of current polling in the country, that Rishi maybe give ‘Middle Finger' a few spins over the coming weeks!
Luke Combs – Beautiful Crazy
Again, a fairly safe and benign choice of song. Maybe this puts Rishi in mind of Liz Truss (god, can you imagine) or maybe this song hits closer to home for him? ‘Lonely One' or ‘Even Though I'm Leaving' might be better choices for the (outgoing?) prime minister to listen to?
