Country singer-songwriter Owen Riegling, hailing from Mildmay in Southwestern Ontario, has released his highly anticipated debut EP ‘Bruce County' via Universal Music Canada. This leading music company has facilitated the production of four tracks recorded in Nashville, under the skilled hands of producer Brad Hill (Maren Morris, Brothers Osborne, Brett Young). The EP features two original songs penned by Owen himself, and two co-written with Jesse Slack, Darly Scott, and Dave Sampson.
‘Bruce County' presents a collection of songs that offer diverse perspectives on community life, encapsulating the essence of rural living and family roots. The EP includes the Platinum-certified hit single ‘Old Dirt Roads,' which peaked at #2 on Canadian Country radio, and fan favourite ‘Bud Light The Way.' It also features two versions of the swampy country song ‘Dan,' celebrating small-town blue-collar workers, and the country-rock anthem ‘Moonshines,' honouring family roots with a dynamic blend of guitars, banjo, and steel guitar riffs. After winning the 2022 Emerging Artists Showcase at the Canadian country music mega-fest Boots & Hearts, Owen signed a record deal with Universal Music Canada. His growing discography includes debut single ‘Love (The Sweater Song)' and the Platinum-certified radio hit ‘Old Dirt Roads.' Owen wrapped up 2023 as part of Apple Music’s UpNext Program and kicked off 2024 being selected as one of Spotify’s Hot Country Artists to Watch and Amazon Canada’s Breakthrough Artists to Watch 2024. The ‘Bruce County' EP offers a promising glimpse of what lies ahead for Owen as a country artist.
