It's been a bumpy few weeks for Haz (Shiv Palekar) on ‘Neighbours' after his past was exposed and he's been in a coma fighting for his life.
Viewers were shocked to learn that Haz had a dark past as a hacker and his life was made hell, as well as the lives of his friends, when former friend Wade (Stephen Phillips) resurfaced and tried to blackmail Haz to help him. Dropped by all of his friends, including girlfriend Mackenzie (Georgie Stone), Haz agreed to participate in a sting operation with Andrew (Lloyd Will) to put Wade behind bars.
As Wade realised what was going on, he tried to do a runner and when Haz gave chase, he was accidentally hit by Mackenzie's car. That accident has seen Haz fall into a coma for the. past couple of weeks. As Haz fought for his life, Mack spearheaded an effort to keep Harold's open and convince Paul to let Haz keep the lease. Mack and Holly (Lucinda Armstrong Hall) also searched for Haz's family to notify them of what had happened.
On today's episode Haz's sister Amira (Maria Thattil) arrived in Erinsborough and her first act was to try and block Mackenzie from seeing Haz. While Amira and Mack argued about Haz, he finally woke up from his coma. While a reconciliation with Mack doesn't look to be out of the question, Amira has wasted no time planting seeds of doubt in Haz's mind and suggested her should leave Erinsborough.
Will Haz actually leave Erinsborough?
We don't think he will. This is likely the start of a longer storyline as Haz's family is introduced and we find out more about him. We know he's been estranged from his family due to his hacker past but we don't know much else about them. Our suspicion is that Amira wants to interfere with Haz's relationships with his friends so we expect that she'll be causing plenty more trouble over the coming weeks.
Could we see more of Haz's family in Erinsborough?
It's a possibility. There's been no official confirmation at the time of writing this article but it would make sense that other family members may follow if Haz is reconnecting with Amira. We don't know about you but we're intrigued to learn more about Haz's family and background, especially after learning he's not the good guy we thought he was.
Will Amira be hanging around for a while?
A promo that was release more recently hinted at Amira being a potential love interest for Nicolette (Hannah Monson) so it looks like she'll be hanging around for at least a few weeks. It'll be interesting to learn more about her and really understand what her relationship with Haz is like. With Chelsea Murphy (Viva Bianca) no longer on the show, we need a new villain and asap!
