Carly Pearce is giving fans another teaser of her upcoming fourth studio album ‘hummingbird’, with the release of emotive new track ‘my place’.
The song was performed at C2C during Pearce’s Main Stage set and she played it for media at a pre-C2C showcase. ‘my place’ is one of Pearce’s personal favourites from her upcoming record, and it describesĀ someone reckoning with the fact that their ex has moved on and is starting to build a new life without them. Instead of feigning indifference, Pearce acknowledges her insecurities and tries to keep putting one foot in front of the other.
āI wrote this song about a dream I had long before the relationship I was in ended, but I knew that it would,” said Pearce. āItās hard to watch people move on and realize your heart canāt live there anymore, but that realization is the beginning of the healing process.ā
Pearce also released the songās accompanying video today, the latest in her ‘through the lens’ series. You can watch it above.
