Rising Warner Music Nashville artist Matt Schuster has released gorgeous and emotional new ballad ‘Thought You Were’.
Coming less than a month after he made his debut at the Grand Ole Opry, the piano ballad has become a favourite on social media. Schuster penned the track with it of confusion, hurt, nostalgia and disillusionment. Schuster penned the track alongside Emily Falvey, Andrew Stoelzing and Adam Yaron.

Schuster signed a label deal with Warner Music Nashville after releasing independently for two years. Four of his releases landed in the Top 200 of Spotify’s Country Global chart and he’s amassed more than 150 million streams to date. He recently landed a cut on labelmate Bailey Zimmerman’s ‘Religiously. The Album’.
Schusterās major-label offeringĀ ‘Left Me In The Dusk’ rounded out a handful of new songs released by the Illinois native in 2023, which also includes songsĀ ‘Last Fall’ andĀ ‘Tell Me Tennessee.
In 2023 Schuster toured alongside Ashley Cooke and closed out the year with shows alongside Kameron Marlowe and Dylan Scott.
