New Kids on the Block to release new album ‘Still Kids’ in May

New Kids on the Block will release new album ‘Still Kids’, their first in 11 years, on 17th May 2024 via BMG.

The album announcement is accompanied by the release of new single ‘Kids’, which was written and produced by David Stewart (BTS, Jonas Brothers) and Luke Batt (Katie Melua). The ‘Kids’ music video, which debuts at 1.30pm ET today, was directed by Marissa Velez. It will make its broadcast premiere on MTV Live, MTVU and MTV Biggest Pop later today.

New Kids On The Block will make the world premiere performance of “Kids” on The Kelly Clarkson Show, this Friday 8th March, as a part of the show’s NKOTB episode takeover.

On the all new album, members Jonathan Knight, Jordan Knight, Joey McIntyre, Donnie Wahlberg and Danny Wood channel the New Kids’ beginnings, even as it pushes them into new territory as songwriters and as a band. The album features 14 new tracks including the lead single, ‘Kids’, and is full of pop anthems, dance tracks, love songs, and grooves that will become fast favorites for the Blockheads.

“It’s the most mature album we’ve ever made,” says Donnie Wahlberg, who co-wrote seven of the tracks on Still Kids with longtime collaborator Lars Halvor Jensen and his production company DEEKAY Music. “Yet it’s the most fun and most comfortable album we’ve ever made.” Wahlberg is also credited as creative director on the album.

Joey McIntyre – who co-wrote another six tracks with songwriter and producer Sean Thomas—echoes the sentiment: “It says a lot about any band to make a record that has energy and passion and lightness and fun and depth – after almost 40 years together? It’s crazy.”

“This album, more than any other, is bringing the New Kids and the fans full circle,” Wahlberg concludes. “It’s about hope and possibilities and being ourselves.”

New Kids On The Block will celebrate the new album and classic hits with Blockheads across America on their upcoming Magic Summer 2024 US Tour, kicking off on 14th June, with special guests Paula Abdul and DJ Jazzy Jeff.
