Valentine’s Day means something different to everyone. For Texan Country music artist Kyle Garrett it’s being able to travel through life’s journey knowing that you have someone you love by your side. We’re thrilled to be able to bring you a 24 hour advance watch of the new video for his song ‘Backstreet Driver’ as you celebrate Valentine’s Day in your own way.
Kyle Garrett is a singer / songwriter based in Austin, TX. He’s worked in the music industry for over 12 years in various roles, including tour managing multiple Texas Country artists, podcast production, and content creation. Garrett grew up listening to country music and after fronting a pop punk band for many years, he found his way back to his roots.
Speaking exclusively to us, Garrett explained the concept behind his new song and video. “I continue to draw influence from both worlds and some of my favourites like The Dixie Chicks, Blink-182, and John Mayer. In 2021, I crowd-funded $12,000 to record my own solo country album. ‘Backseat Driver’ is my first of six releases in 2024. I wrote the song reflecting on how the minor annoyances of life and love, like taking a wrong turn, or arguing over what’s for dinner, don’t really matter as long as you have the right person by your side.
