Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton put their love on display once again with new collaboration ‘Purple Irises’.
The song was produced by Scott Hendricks and recorded in Nashville at Smoakstack Studios. ‘Purple Irises’ arrives prior to Stefani’s Super Bowl performance this weekend at the Super Bowl LVIII TikTok TailgateĀ before the big matchup between the San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs on 11th February 2024. Fans can expect to see Stefani and Shelton performing the new song together.
āPurple IrisesĀ is a song that comes from the idea that when you plant something you are planting hope and watching love grow,ā says Stefani. āWeathering all the different seasons of growth. We are in this together, we planted the seeds together and we are growing together.ā
This isn’t the first time the real-life couple have made music together. They’ve previously had success with the Platinum hits ‘Nobody But You’ and ‘Happy Anywhere’, along with the festive favourite ‘You Make It Feel Like Christmas’.
“We love this song so much,ā said Blake Shelton. “Itās a song Gwen wrote with a couple of friends of hers, and I fell in love with it the first time I heard it. She knew there was something different about it and asked me to come in and sing with her. My longtime producer, Scott Hendricks, produced it, and Gwenās been wanting to work with him for a long time now, and itās turned into this really cool and different song that can live anywhere.”
In terms of Gwen Stefani’s solo output, she’s been putting out occasional singles the past couple of years including ‘True Babe’, ‘Slow Clap’ and ‘Let Me Reintroduce Myself’. Her last solo album was 2015’s ‘This Is What The Truth Feels Like’ and Stefani recently announced that she was reuniting with No Doubt for Coachella this summer.
