Texas native Laci Kaye Booth first came to the world’s attention when she auditioned for ‘American Idol’ back in 2019. Highlights included a duet with Brett Young on his hit song ‘Mercy’ as she made it all the way to the Top 5 of the competition. Today she releases new song ‘True Love’ as the newest addition to her catalogue re-enforcing our belief that Laci is what someone would sound like if Lana Del Rey and Patsy Cline had a musical baby!
Accompanying the release, the song’s official music video, which features Booth alongside actor Taylor John Smith (Where the Crawdads Sing, Sharp Objects), also debuts today. Watch the video at the link below:
Of the song, Booth shares, “‘True Love,’ a record written by very true events, is a song that I am truly happy to finally share with the world. After years of being told I couldn’t release it, and then keeping it to myself, I decided that my heartbreak fairytale of a song needed its day in the sun.”
