Chris Shiflett, renowned Foo Fighters guitarist, has unveiled Willy Cobb as the supporting act for his upcoming headline tour in March. The tour will conclude with a highly anticipated performance at London’s Electric Ballroom on the 27th. Tickets are now available for purchase.
Expressing his excitement about the collaboration, Willy Cobb remarks, “I remember being on the flight the first time I went across the pond, listening to one of Chris’ albums. It’s a full-circle moment for us to tour the UK together! I can’t wait to get over in March.”
Willy Cobb, also known as ‘Wild’ Willy Cobb, brings strong credentials to the tour as the cousin of Grammy-nominated singer and songwriter Brent Cobb. The latter, along with Jaren Johnston, renowned frontman of The Cadillac Three and songwriter behind numerous No.1 country hits, is producing Willy’s upcoming music.
In Cobb’s own words, “If you don’t know me, I’m a southern guy making alternative rock music. I’m originally from Georgia but now live in Nashville, Tennessee, where I’ve been making music and playing shows for a while. I’m influenced by 90’s grunge, but I like to add a southern twist. I love loud guitars, tattoos, eyeliner, and bands like Nirvana and Tame Impala.”
This tour follows the release of Chris Shiflett’s stellar third album, ‘Lost At Sea,’ available now on Snakefarm in the UK. The album features the latest single, ‘Weigh You Down,’ a baritone guitar-driven rocker inspired by Shiflett’s wife’s birthday.
Shiflett expresses his anticipation, stating, “I can’t wait to get back over to the UK and Ireland for another run of dates! The tour we did last spring was amazing, the best we’ve ever done. The crowds were wild, so I can’t wait to see what it’ll be like touring now that the record is out. We’ll definitely mix in a few more new tunes in addition to the older stuff.”
As a modern-day guitar hero, Shiflett expertly blends alt-country rock and guitar-driven grit in his latest album, showcasing sharp songwriting and Americana undertones.
In addition to his musical endeavors, Shiflett has recently launched the ‘Shred with Shifty’ video series, where he interviews guitar greats, exploring their most iconic solos and the art of playing guitar. Guests include Nile Rogers, Alex Lifeson (Rush), Rivers Cuomo (Weezer), Brad Paisley, and more.
