With a total of 18 songs, ‘Young Love & Saturday Nights’ stands as Young’s most ambitious release to date, born out of countless writing and listening sessions. Young has a hand in writing 15 of the album’s 18 tracks and takes on the role of sole producer for three songs. Collaborating with longtime creative partners Chris DeStefano and Corey Crowder, Young elevates his sound emotionally, sonically, and stylistically. The ballads hit harder, the rowdy tunes are more raucous, and the anthems reach new heights. According to Young, “This is what this album felt like it needed to be for me. It’s a little louder, a little more raw. Even the stripped-down songs are heavier. I love creating music and I love making it, and the fact that I get to do that for a living is a pretty incredible thing.”

The album’s title track and current single leans into David Bowie’s ‘Rebel Rebel’ signature guitar lick, making the legendary rocker a writer on the song whilst other writers on the album include HARDY, Mitchell Tenpenny, Ashley Gorley, Ray Fulcher and Emily Weisband.

Among the standout tracks on the album is ‘Right Now, released last Friday and described by Nashville Lifestyles as having “a pounding pulse, sweeping strings, and a desire-filled delivery.” Co-written by Young with Chris DeStefano and Josh Hoge, ‘Right Now’ explores the complexities of a relationship in the in-between phase, with Young stating, “You’re in that in-between phase of a relationship going, ‘It’s late, I can’t sleep. I’m wondering where you are and you’re wondering where I’m at. Let’s not wonder about it anymore. Let’s be in the same place.’”
