BBC Radio 2 has unveiled the results of their ‘Your Ultimate Madonna Song’ poll and ‘Like a Prayer’ has come out on top.
The 1989 chart-topper was followed by ‘Vogue’ at number 2, ‘Into the Groove’ at number 3, ‘Papa Don’t Preach’ at number 4 and ‘Like a Virgin’ at number 5. The Queen of Pop will be celebrated on Radio 2 on New Year’s Day with the three hour show, ‘Your Ultimate Madonna Song’ hosted by Scott Mills (2-5pm) alongside ‘Michelle Visage: My Queen ā Madonna’ (5-6pm) and ‘Madonna at the BBC’ (6-7pm) ā further details below. All the programmes are available exclusively on BBC Sounds in the new Radio 2 Celebrates Madonna collection along with ‘Madonna ā Radio 2 In Concert’ from her 1993 Girlie Tour at Wembley Stadium.
For the vote×Ŗ launched in November, listeners were asked to select up to five of their favourite tracks from Madonnaās 61 Top Ten UK hits.
