The new Christmas event in ‘Pet Sim 99’ is live and offers many new things to do and items/pets to collect. There are 17 new festive-themed pets, a Christmas present event, an elf on the shelf, free titanic pets, clan battles, five new zones plus much more.
The new zones are simply the next stage of opening up the full map and the final zone ties in nicely with the festive season as we end at the Frost Mountains with all their snowy goodness. It’s worth getting these areas unlocked as they will give you access to the new eggs and therefore the new strongest pet.
The real Christmas stuff begins with the new pets. You can get these pets by collecting presents around the map while farming. These presents can be opened as they are or you can save them up and upgrade them into even bigger and better presents. There is even a Titanic present which, according to the official blog, contains a Titanic Silver Dragon and a Huge Jolly Narwhal! I haven’t hatched one of these yet and I suspect that every Titanic present won’t contain these but I desperately hope I’m wrong.
In addition to these random presents there are fifty other presents hidden around the map so get exploring as each one you find will give you a bonus gift.
Other Xmas collectables include the new hoverboards. There are three to collect and each can be obtained differently. The Rudolph board is from the Advent Calendar, the Sleigh board can be found in the presents and the Present board is a prize in the new Clan Battle!
The Advent Calendar and Elf on Shelf event also make their first appearance. To unlock the Calendar prizes you will need to complete a different quest each day. We’re only on day three of it but so far these appear doable for all players. You can also claim rewards by finding and talking to Elf each day but be warned he will move every 24 hours so if you don’t manage to find him on time you might miss out.
